ZnO element with FC cutout (box shape)

FC cutout that helps prevent equipment failure due to lightning damage!

We offer a super compact type of FC cutout with built-in ZnO elements, known as the ZnO element FC cutout (box type). When a lightning surge enters, the ZnO element suppresses the voltage and eliminates the lightning surge. This helps prevent fuse blowouts and contributes to the prevention of equipment failures due to lightning damage. 【Features】 - More space-saving and economical than using lightning arresters and cutouts separately - No fuse blowouts due to lightning surges - Excellent non-linearity, effectively suppressing lightning surges without continuous current, and performs well under multiple lightning responsibilities - Smaller cross-sectional area with high discharge capacity compared to SiC elements, allowing for miniaturization - High performance and high reliability that exceed JIS standard values *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Technical Data: Lightning Protection Measures for School Grounds (Baseball Field)

About the increasing types of lightning damage and countermeasures! A detailed introduction to lightning protection measures in schoolyards (baseball fields).

This document introduces examples of lightning strike accidents, including direct strikes and ground current lightning strikes at schoolyards and baseball fields, as well as the effects of lightning currents and their countermeasures. It also includes comparative materials on various countermeasures such as lightning rods, safety devices, and lightning warning systems, as well as installation examples in sports facilities, schools, and event venues. [Contents (excerpt)] ■ General mechanism of lightning ■ Lightning strikes could increase by 50% by 2100 due to climate change, according to U.S. research ■ Relationship between global warming and lightning strikes ■ Types of lightning damage and their countermeasures ■ Lightning accidents caused by direct strikes ■ Relationship between the pitcher's position and lightning rods *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Lightning Protection Case Study: Outdoor Performances - Battling the Weather to Preserve Outdoor Ballet

In the summer of 2022, lightning struck a utility pole on the premises. When holding an outdoor performance, "lightning can't be helped" is not an acceptable excuse.

We would like to introduce a case where "PDCE lightning protection balls" were installed as a lightning strike countermeasure for an outdoor ballet performance. A few years ago, on a day off, lightning struck a steel tower at the ballet venue, causing damage to the sound and lighting systems. For the 2024 performance, we will install a total of three of these products on the lighting towers and stage, and we have asked a local contractor who has long been involved in stage setup to handle the installation. This product, equipped with features that prevent lightning strikes, has already protected 4,400 units nationwide, including those for the Self-Defense Forces, railways, factories, and outdoor sports facilities. 【Case Overview】 ■ Issue - On July 27, 2022, lightning struck a utility pole at a hotel, damaging all electrical systems and rendering refrigerators, air conditioners, well water pumps, and boilers unusable. ■ Response - Installed a total of three PDCE lightning protection balls on the lighting towers and stage. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Automotive-related Factory (Protection of Firefighting Equipment)

Are you fully prepared for lightning protection? Here are some examples of implementation in actual automotive-related factories!

We would like to introduce a case study for the protection of fire-fighting equipment requested by an automotive-related factory. After the implementation, the person in charge stated, "Repeated lightning strikes have been disrupting our operations. I was concerned about how much we could prevent, so we decided to install a lightning arrester on the equipment that had suffered the most damage and set up a counter. We were then able to monitor the lightning situation with the counter, and we are currently considering our next lightning protection measures." 【Case Study】 ■ Client: Automotive-related factory ■ Purpose: Protection of fire-fighting equipment ■ Feedback from the person in charge: - Repeated lightning strikes had been disrupting operations - We installed a lightning arrester on the equipment that had suffered the most damage as a trial - We were able to monitor the lightning situation, so we are currently considering our next lightning protection measures *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
